Explanation
To join an SVM for CIFS access only to an existing Active Directory domain, you need to perform the following actions:

Domain Name System

Create DNS entries for the SVM name and the data LIF IP address on the DNS server that is authoritative for the domain. This enables the domain controller to resolve the SVM name and the data LIF IP address.
Create a data LIF on the SVM that will be used by the CIFS clients to access the data. The data LIF must have an IP address that belongs to the same subnet as the domain controller or a routable subnet.
Create NTP entries for the SVM to synchronize the time with the domain controller. The time difference between the SVM and the domain controller must be within five minutes, otherwise the domain join operation will fail.
You do not need to create export policies or cluster LIFs for CIFS access only. References :- Join a SVM to an Active Directory domain, Create a new SVM with a CIFS volume and share, ONTAP - Joining an SVM to an Active Directory domain
