The Red Book is one book of the Rainbow Series, a six-foot-tall stack of books on evaluating Trusted Computer Systems according to the National Security Agency. The term Rainbow Series comes from the fact that each book is a different color. The Trusted Network Interpretation (TNI) extends the evaluation classes of the Trusted Systems Evaluation Criteria (DOD 5200.28-STD) to trusted network systems and components.
