Modifying External collaboration settings in Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory) affects the ability of users to collaborate with external users. This setting does not impact internal features such as the chat functionality within Teams for internal users. To restrict chat for temporary employees, you should configure Teams messaging policies instead.
