A software-defined data center (SDDC) is an architecture that extends virtualization concepts such as abstraction, pooling, and automation to all of the data center's resources and services. In an SDDC, IT resource components like computing, networking, storage, and security are all virtualized, except for the commodity hardware used to create resource pools. This virtualized environment enables more efficient resource management and scalability.
