A Netscaler Gateway is not required for a Xendesktop deployment. The DDC is a STA and required component of Xendesktop. NetScaler is an optional/additional component. Answer is D
These questions like this kill me. What is throwing me off here is the work "acts". The DDC is where you configure, but the NS does the communication to the STA, which "acts" as the STA. I agree Brendan, this should be "D".

"A" is incorrect. You configure the Netscaler Gateway to communicate with the STA under the STA section of Published Applications on the Virtual Gateway Server , which is a Delivery Controller address (ie, http://<DeliveryControllerNameorIP>).
