A current EMC NetWorker customer is backing up a mix of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers in their environment. They have decided to integrate two Avamar servers into their environment as deduplication nodes.
Clients will be configured to back up to the first node with Avamar replication configured between the two.
Remote office backups will be performed over a WAN connection with limited bandwidth. Additionally, many of the backup clients are on older hardware. This requires that the load increase by backups on the clients be minimized as much as possible.
What can be done to minimize the backup load on the clients with minimal resources?
