A customer has been testing the migration process from a Microsoft Windows server to a new VNX. They found that performance, security, access, and the EMCopy migration process all perform well within acceptable limits.
When the customer begins to use the VNX for production, they remove the test configuration and create new file systems. In addition, they enable deduplication, replication, and rerun the same EMCopy scripts as were used during the testing. Within a few hours, they notice that the copy rate is almost half of what they observed during testing to the stand alone system. Migration is likely to exceed their cut-over window.
